Senator Dori Connor (R-Penn Acres) recently introduced a Senate
Concurrent Resolution to encourage eligible Delawareans to take advantage
of the MassMutual Life Insurance Company's LifeBridge Free Life Insurance
Program.
The LifeBridge program is a 10 year term life insurance policy that is
offered at no cost to families with a yearly income of $40,000 or less.
This free offer has been extended to the first 20,000 policies written by
MassMutual nationally and provides for a $50,000 death benefit to be held
in trust that will be applied to the education expenses of the policy
holder’s children for a period of 10 years after the death of the policy
holder or until the age of 35 (whichever is later).
To be eligible for the LifeBridge program you must be:
- Between the ages of 19 and 42;
- The parent or legal guardian of one or more dependent children under
age 18;
- A permanent, legal resident of the United States;
- Currently employed full or part time with a total family income not
less than $10,000 or more than $40,000 annually;
- The only member of your household who has applied for the LifeBridge
Free Life Insurance Program; and
- In good health.
Senator Connor stated that "as a former teacher, I understand the
importance of an education. I am hopeful that the citizens of our state
will pursue this generous offering. As quoted in the Washington
Post...sometimes free is really free. The agents writing the policies are
doing the work pro-bono and no commissions are paid for these policies.
This is a wonderful opportunity for families to ensure their children's
education should a tragedy occur."
