AREA DURING THE PRE-DAWN HOURS OF FRIDAY MORNING. ALTHOUGH THERE
WAS SOME WEAKENING OF THE INTENSITY OF THE RAIN AND
THUNDERSTORMS, AREAS OF HEAVY RAIN AND SOME THUNDERSTORMS WILL
CONTINUE EARLY THIS MORNING.

STRENGTHENING LOW PRESSURE WILL MOVE EAST-NORTHEASTWARD TODAY ALONG
A FRONTAL BOUNDARY STALLED IN THE MID ATLANTIC REGION. AS THIS LOW
MOVES THROUGH OUR REGION, AREAS OF HEAVY RAINFALL, INCLUDING SOME
STRONG THUNDERSTORMS, WILL OCCUR. THUNDERSTORMS WOULD BE MAINLY
ALONG AND SOUTH OF THE FRONTAL BOUNDARY, WHICH WOULD LIKELY BE
OVER SOUTHERN NEW JERSEY, EXTREME SOUTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA, AND
THE NORTHEAST MARYLAND SHORE AND DELAWARE. RAINFALL AMOUNTS ARE
EXPECTED TO RANGE BETWEEN 1.5 AND 2.5 INCHES, WITH LOCALLY HIGHER
AMOUNTS UP TO AROUND 3 INCHES IN THUNDERSTORMS. IN ADDITION, ANY
THUNDERSTORMS MAY HAVE VERY HIGH RAIN RATES.

THE SITES MOSTLY LIKELY TO EXPERIENCE FLOODING ARE STREAMS AND
CREEKS, AS WELL AS URBAN AREAS, AND IN LOW-LYING AND FLOOD-PRONE
SPOTS. THE LARGER RIVERS, SUCH AS THE DELAWARE AND THE RARITAN,
ARE NOT EXPECTED TO FLOOD, BUT WILL LIKELY SEE RISES.

A FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR HEAVY RAIN AND
RESULTANT FLOODING ALONG STREAMS AND CREEKS. YOU SHOULD MONITOR
LATER FORECASTS AND BE ALERT FOR...AND BE READY TO REACT TO...
POSSIBLE FLOOD WARNINGS. IF FLOODING DEVELOPS, THOSE LIVING IN
AREAS PRONE TO FLOODING SHOULD TAKE ACTION BY MOVING TO HIGHER
GROUND. MOTORISTS ARE CAUTIONED TO REFRAIN FROM DRIVING THROUGH
FLOOD WATERS...TURN AROUND AND TAKE ANOTHER ROUTE IF YOU FIND THE
ROAD IS COVERED WITH WATER. NEVER DRIVE AROUND BARRICADES.
